chinese beauty snakes
(orthriophis taeniurus taeniurus)
Chinese Beauties are hugely underrated. They are a manageable size at 4 to 6 feet (the hypomelanistic/ t+ albino line seems to grow longer and thicker than the rest and occupies the larger extreme), typically eat well, and aren’t prone to bite; their initial reaction is typically flight, unlike most other members of the beauty snake complex.

I’ve recently acquired the larger part of Toby Brock’s awesome collection, and am thrilled to be working with calicos, t- albinos, and a couple lines of hypo/ t+ albinos with slightly different looks. I already have some double het (calico/ hypo) animals Toby produced, and plan on mixing and matching extensively going forward; 2012 should be fun.
